The City of Chennai is gearing up to host the grand event and the members of the twin banners in Tamilnadu are happy that they have been  entrusted with the task of successfully conducting the Conference.  We are indeed thankful to CBOU for providing the great opportunity to the comrades of Tamilnadu to conduct the Conference in the Silver Jubilee year of the Organisation.

With a view to coordinate with the ongoing preparations and to ensure successful conduct of the Conference, a Reception Committee has been formed in the colourful meeting held in “Com C S Hall” of the Union  in which hundreds of comrades belonging to both CBOU and CBEU attended. Top leadership, Presidents and General Secretaries, of both the organisations, besides the leadership of AIBOA Tamilnadu State Committee graced the occasion and addressed the huge gathering.

Com D Luke Baskaran, President of Canara Bank Employees’ Union, has been chosen as the Chairman of the Reception Committee and Com P R Rajagopal, General Secretary of Canara Bank Officers’ Union , is the General Convenor of the Reception Committee. Various sub committees have also been formed. All the Office bearers and Central Committee Members and members of the All India Women Council of CBOU will be the ex-officio members of the Reception Committee.

Around 1000 officers from different parts of the country from Kanyakumari to Kashmir will be witnessing the mega event of the Conference of CBOU extending to 3 days and participating in the discussions and deliberations and taking decisions on all matters concerning the Industry, Bank and Workforce.

Preparations for the successful conduct of the Conference have  started and all arrangements for the comfortable stay of the participants have already been made. Two spacious choultries with AC halls and rooms have been booked which can easily accommodate 500 comrades.  One guest house with 12 rooms for the leaders and sufficient number of rooms in a Hotel have already been booked. All are in the very close vicinity of the venue of the Conference.

The task is stupendous. However the comrades of Tamilnadu  will accomplish it with ease and elan.  They have the grit and determination.  They  have the enthusiasm and energy.

Conference of Canara Bank Officers’ Union is the conference of all of us. It is our function. We assure each and every participant, delegate and observer that the V Conference of Canara Bank Officers’ Union will be  mammoth, memorable, successful and purposeful.
